The Academy of Hair Design Honored to be 'Connection School'
The Academy of Hair Design joined forces with SASSOON as its first “Connection” school in 2008 and will be the only Oklahoma school certified to teach SASSOON’s ABC training techniques of hairstyling, deemed the best techniques available in the industry. Directors from SASSOON and The Academy of Hair Design have been working together to raise the level and quality of training for hair students and stylists in Oklahoma for many years. Out of this relationship came discussions of joining forces in this effort and eventually, SASSOON initiated its “Connection” School Division with the Academy of Hair Design as its prototype.
“This is a great honor for The Academy of Hair Design, and it is bringing national attention to Oklahoma City,” states owner Joe Gitthens. “We are extremely honored and proud to be considered the first of SASSOON’s ‘Connection’ Schools. This is the kind of quality that people have grown to expect from the Duncan Bros. Salon name, and now from The Academy of Hair Design.” Gitthens shares ownership with Rick Bennett and Jean Ann Duncan, who have partnered together for many years.
“When we set out to start The Academy of Hair Design, we knew that it had to be the best,” says Bennett. “We have been training up stylists since the beginning in our salons, but we discovered that we could only teach a handful of future stylists and desired to help more realize their potential. We know that what we’ve accomplished already is incredible, but it helps us tremendously to be backed by such a world-renowned name like SASSOON. We are thrilled.”
